J.J. Cale

John Weldon Cale (aka J J Cale) [1938 to 2013] was the originator of the ‘Tulsa Sound’, a loose groove drawing on blues, rockabilly, country and jazz. Featured here in the first of the “C” chapter in the 2015 Jemtunes A-Z is ‘After Midnight’ from JJ Cale’s debut studio album ‘Naturally’ released in 1972. ‘After Midnight’ although penned by Cale, was first a hit for Eric Clapton in 1970.
