Leaping Ahead Project 2016 #169: 160617
[A song from 1971]
…and today’s Pink Floyd moment comes from the 1971 album ‘Meddle”. This one’s dedicated to le chaps on the annual LMTEW pilgrimage this weekend. One year – I’ll be back!
LMTEW is an acronym for ‘Le Mans the Easy Way’ – an annual road trip from Sussex to Les Veslueres in the village of Saint Denis d’Orques in north-west France, 40km west of Le Mans. A group of us started the annual pilgrimage back in 2006 expressly for the purpose of experiencing the annual 24 hour endurance motor race, and have made the same trip every year since. Sadly, I’ve not been able to go these last few years, but my heart and soul remains and, as one of the original eight, I retain my honorary life membership! One year – I’ll return.
LMTEW has become a tradition and built into that is something we call ‘The Pink Floyd Moment’. This could happen at any time during the weekend, although it’s usually late at night after a good meal and a good sampling of the local wines. It’s a sort of subconscious knowledge as to when is the right time. But it’s always right and it’s always loud and it’s always Pink Floyd.
