I can’t believe we’re 100 days into 2016 already! But we are – so here’s a bit of Joy Division – probably one of my favourite bands of the late 70s. Sadly the band only had a four year history, cut short early by the tragic passing of lead singer Ian Curtis in 1980. But its impact was both huge and long-lasting.

‘Love will tear us apart’ was the lead single from the band’s second album “Closer”, released two months after Curtis’ death. Ironically it became their highest charting success. The remaining Joy Division members continued as New Order and achieved critical and commercial success. But that’s for another day…
